I find that my work often walks a line between representation and abstraction. This is a deliberate aim because while I believe we all respond to the natural environment in a similar way, recreating a specific place has its limits. So although these pieces are inspired by my surroundings, I want to suggest the forms and shapes of landscape to let the viewer bring their own experience to the table.
The pieces have been created intuitively, each emerging through a process that includes many separate layers, which feature a number of different media. This has given the works a depth and individuality that is truly unique. They are presented in white, wooden floater frames.
