Play Misty For Me

Not the Hitchcock-style psychological thriller by Clint Eastwood nor, indeed, the song by Johnny Mathis, but an abstract landscape work in acrylic. For me, the drama is created by the warm vibrant reds splashed across the main section of the canvas juxtaposed against the cool layers of pale grey-blue. In this mixed media piece – part of my series on the trees of Wimbledon Common –  I’ve combined brushstrokes and palette knife gestures with acrylic pastes and gels. The artwork has been created on Jackson’s premium quality box canvas, and can be hung without the need for a frame.
