My paintings work at the intersection of landscape, memory and abstraction. They explore how environments are felt and recalled rather than observed — reducing terrain to its essential elements of light, depth and atmosphere, where forms emerge and dissolve simultaneously.

 

The paintings sit in tension between presence and absence, structure and erosion, the fixed and the disappearing.

My current series, Residual Ground, develops this investigation through a sequence of mixed-media works. Beginning with the last legible form — a tree, the final fixed point — the series traces a path of gradual deconstruction, as the system that holds landscape together begins to shift. What remains are traces: fragments of horizon, vertical interruptions, depths that suggest place without confirming it.

The work draws on the quiet instability of natural spaces — diffused light, eroding detail, the slow reassembly of what memory retains. Each painting operates as a trace rather than a depiction, inviting the viewer to inhabit the work rather than simply observe it.
