Ebb And Flow
An opening work in the Residual Ground series, existing alongside the first painting as two readings of the same initial state. A solitary tree form emerges through a restrained palette of teal, muted beige and soft grey — the last legible structure before the series begins its movement toward erosion and abstraction. Fragments of printed material embedded within the surface introduce traces of language partially absorbed by the painted layers, held in tension with the stillness of the form above. The system is intact here — but already under question.
